When you’re ready to leave the relaxing oasis of Forager Cottage – you’ll find yourselves ideally located to explore Devon’s south coast and the National Park of Dartmoor from the Dart Estuary for summer kayaking and paddle boarding to South Hams beaches for relaxation, picnics and walks. There are some wonderful pubs within walking distance of the cottage and lots of golf courses nearby, too.

Coastal

If it’s coastline and beaches that you’re looking for, then just a short drive away are the golden sandy beaches of Blackpool Sands - an award-winning Blue Flag family beach, or if you're after a long stretch of beach then Slapton Sands and Torcross Beach are the perfect spots.And for the more adventurous of you Batham and Bigbury Beach offer surfing almost all year around.

Countryside 

Forager Cottage is nestled in the heart of the countryside with extensive walks and views to enjoy. Explore Dartmoor by foot, on bike or by horse and visit local attractions like National Trusts Castle Drago, Bovey Castle and Sharpham Estate.

 

Towns

The beautiful and quaint waterside village of Dittisham is just a 20-minute walk away from Forager Cottage. Here you can enjoy local pubs and village shops, not to mention taking a boat to Agatha Christie’s National Trust home, or the ferry to the bustling town of Dartmouth with its beautiful harbour, stunning castle and plethora of boutique and artisan shops, as well as a wide selection of bistros, eateries and restaurants. Totnes, just a stone’s throw from the cottage has a reputation for its lively community and relaxed atmosphere. It has a fascinating history which combines stunning countryside with independent shopping, local food & drink and interesting attractions.
